Open predictions desk →Coming back from a set down, Zizou Bergs overturned Ugo Humbert to win the Eastbourne final 3-6 6-1 6-4. After a rain suspension on June 27 the match resumed on June 28, and Bergs’s return pressure and timely breaks decided a tight decider and earned him the trophy.
Ugo Humbert produced a tidy, controlled performance to beat Jack Draper 7-5, 6-3 in the Eastbourne semi-final, saving every break point he faced and converting two of Draper’s five vulnerabilities. The victory sends Humbert into the final and gives Draper valuable grass matches before a testing Wimbledon opener.
Zizou Bergs recovered from a set down to beat Britain’s lucky-loser Toby Samuel 4-6 7-6(5) 6-2 in the Eastbourne semi. Bergs edged a tense second-set tiebreak, then converted the momentum into a dominant third set, using a heavier serve and crisper aggression to close the match.
Zizou Bergs defeated qualifier Jan Choinski 6-3 6-3 in the Eastbourne quarterfinals, taking command with aggressive, deep returns and steady service games to close out both sets. The Belgian’s straight-sets win extends his strong grass run and propels him into the semi-finals with clear momentum ahead of Wimbledon.
Ugo Humbert defeated Quentin Halys 6-3, 6-4 in the Eastbourne quarterfinals, turning steady serve placement and early ball-taking into control on grass. Humbert’s low returns and willingness to step into short balls repeatedly shortened rallies and left Halys defending for large stretches of both sets.
Jack Draper beat Gabriel Diallo 6-1 6-4 in the Eastbourne quarterfinals, turning a one-sided opening set into a controlled finish as the Canadian pushed back in the second. Draper’s aggressive start and improved serving under new coach Andy Murray supplied the separation he needed to close out the win.
